I'd like to say hi to all my new friends that I met at the energy expo at URI today. I'm glad that so many of you enjoyed playing Monkey-Says games and trying Boo's brain busters, too. Boo is really good at coming up with those fun quizzes...even though he's just a bird with blue feet!

Remember the other day when I wrote about how nature turns up in unexpected places? Well, I saw another amazing scene today. Nature breaking through concrete. How awesome ! This flower was from a seed that the wind blew to this person's driveway. It made a safe little home for itself and grew right through the crack there! Among the brown and crackly leaves, among the debris, and seeds, and sticks, and pebbles, this one, little pink morning glory poked its little blossom out...
and bloomed in all its glory.

Know what I did today? It was a gray, rainy day so I called my friend Barley to come over and keep me company. Soon, he started getting sleepy and right before he fell asleep I grabbed my pencil and paper and drew a picture of him. I hadn't drawn in a long time. It was nice to draw him. He hasn't seen it yet. Right now he's snoring away like a Mac Truck. But I'll show you. Send me your drawings, too!

Yup. You heard it here, folks. November has officially been declared Pomegranate Month! Do dig in and enjoy those juicy little seeds that look like bloody teeth. Lucky for my monkey teeth I have no problem chewing up the whole thing. Otis has no teeth so he sucks on the seeds then spits them out...how do you eat a pomegrante?

Being a monkey, I can swing from trees, climb up to rooftops, see the world right side up and upside down. I get the opportunity to see nature in so many places. But I just realized that even for you humans reading this, you can find nature in an amazing number of unexpected places too. Check this out, for instance. I was visiting my friend Boo. We were just hanging out sitting on the floor, listening to music, and playing a game. I looked up and this is what I saw! This spider was pretty plump! Must have been carrying eggs inside her!

My friend, Quinn, who is 5, sent me a message. He has a great conservation idea. Otis the worm will especially like this idea since it's about compost. Enjoy the last carrots there, Quinn! I'm going to make sure Otis knows about your plan. Love, Monkey
Dear Monkey,
I like my garden. A few carrots are stillin the ground that need to bepicked. Now we are getting readyto collect leaves to mix with thefood we don't eat to make compost. We will use that in our garden after the winter. Posted at 08:21 AM | Permalink | Comments (2)

Hi Everybody! This is my very own blog. Many people (and other creatures) thought it would be hard for me to type out a blog...but just because I'm a monkey doesn't mean I can't. After all, I have opposable thumbs! You should see me send text messages from my cell phone...quick as a whip.
